Goals Introduction to plant disease epidemiology and ecology. Emphasis will be placed on understanding and quantification of plant diseases on a population level, and application of this knowledge to select efficient strategies and tactics of disease management
Course Content Elements of an epidemic, the factors affecting on epidemic development, product loss measurement, epidemic models and prediction systems, examples of the prediction of the development of the epidemic.
Learning Outcomes - To understand the relationship between the disease agents and the environmental factors.
- To learn the life cycle of plant diseases and the importance of the factors those influence it
- To describe the situations for the formation of an plant diseases epidemic and its elements
- To learn forecasting and warning models of plant diseases epidemics
