Goals To give general information about Agriculture, the historical development of agriculture, the general structure of the Turkish agricultural system, classification of field crops, botany of field crops, the main principle of field farming (soil cultivation, seeding, fertilization, irrigation, weed control, harvesting principles).
Course Content Information about field agriculture, plant growing techniques, cool-season cereals, summer-growing cereals, industrial crops, meadow pasture, and forage crops
Learning Outcomes - define meaning of agriculture concept and define general knowledge about main agricultural activities,
- summarize historical development of agriculture in the world and in the Turkey,
- comprehend of field farming techniques,
- list classification of field crops and identify of some morphological features of field crops families,
- list general knowledge about agricultural systems (dry, irrigated and wet farming systems),
- analyze general information about field farming principles (soil cultivation, sowing, fertilization, irrigation, weed control, harvest methods), classify field crops and identify field crops morphologically.
