Goals To improve the ability of abstract thinking, by intensifying the concepts of matrices and determinants and the solutions of systems of linear equations to create the basis for algebra classes.
Course Content Matrices, Matrix operations, special type matrices; elementary row and column operations, echelone matrix, elementary matrix and the inverse of a matrix; rank of a matrix; determinant, properties of determinant function; systems of linear equations, solution tecniques (Gauss elimination, Gauss-Jordan reduction method, inverse matrix and Cramer method)
Learning Outcomes - The student knows how to find inverse of a given matrix.
- The student solves system s of linear equations using matrices and determinants.
- The student understands the relation between matrices and linear systems
- The student applies solution techniques to linear equation systems
- The student knows the relationship between rank of matrix, determinants and invertibility.
