The Textile Technology Program, which has been in existence since 2002-2003 within the Düzce Vocational School, which has been in service since 1976, continues its education as a Fashion Design program in the 2016-2017 academic year.

The duration of the Fashion Design program is 2 years; our students will graduate with 120 ECTS credits at the end of the 2 years. In addition to the compulsory and elective courses given to students during the education period, students are required to successfully complete a one-term workplace training with the 3+1 Education system. During the preparation of the program, sector demands, regional needs, conditions of the educational institution and student orientations and demands were taken into consideration in line with the program development principles.

 

Fashion Design Program students graduate as professionals who design clothing and accessories in accordance with design principles and methods, select materials and equipment suitable for design, prepare collections and transform design into products, considering customer expectations and fashion trends in the textile and apparel sector. They can work in design departments in public and private sector textile companies. Graduates; They can work as freelance designers, as well as designers in the fashion and ready-to-wear sector, design studios, official and private institutions related to performing arts, and cinema and television institutions. They also have wide job opportunities as consultants, modelists, stylists, designers, customer representatives or experts in textile, apparel and fashion related companies.

The Fashion Design Program aims to train individuals who are sufficiently equipped in production, product development, design, marketing and management.

The Fashion Design Program is conducted in Turkish.

[] Admission Requirements
Within the scope of the regulations determined by the Higher Education Council (YÖK), this program is based on the examination system established by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYS). After the students report the program preferences they want to study, they are placed in the relevant programs by this center according to the puch they get from this exam. The graduates of the vocational high school related to the branch can register as a division without examination in the framework of the rules determined by YÖK and ÖSYS.
Foreign students are accepted according to their international validity such as SAT, ACT, or secondary school graduation notes (Associate Degree and Undergraduate Programs Admission Guide for Foreign Students).
Admission of students to the programs with the General Academic Exchange Protocol is based on bilateral agreements (such as ERASMUS, FARABI, etc.) signed between Düzce University and partner university. Guest students may enroll in courses offered in this program if they are approved by the relevant academic unit. The program will be trained in a language-aware condition.
[] Course's Contrubution To Program
To be able to successfully complete all of the courses available in the program (120 ECTS in total) and to graduate, they must be successful by taking at least DD grade from all courses offered in the curriculum.
[] Recognition of Prior Learning
Students studying at Düzce University may be exempt from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. If the content of the course taken at another institution is in accordance with the content of the course given at Düzce University and is approved by the relevant faculty / institute directorate, the student may be exempted from this derstance.
[] Description of Program
Purpose of the Fashion Design Program; To develop creative, innovative, entrepreneurial and productive professional staff who can recognize the structure of textile enterprises, identify the current problems in the sector, produce solutions to them, evaluate resources, use contemporary technology and establish healthy communication with people in accordance with the needs of the textile industry. It aims to educate designers who can produce contemporary, creative and original designs in textile, ready-to-wear and fashion sector, who can evaluate the pioneering ideas that can create fashion, materials and production techniques. During the education period students are provided with basic textile, ready-to-wear knowledge and skills as well as knowledge and skill of using the technology. Students who have completed the program are awarded the associate degree diploma and Fashion Designer title. The main objective of the department is to contribute to the level of employment of graduates in the textile and fashion sectors in the private and public sector.

Fashion Design Graduates have the opportunity to work as textile technicians, fashion designers, pattern makers, stylists, customer representatives and unit managers in fashion workshops, Textile and Ready-Made Clothing Enterprises and production, product development, design, marketing and management departments.

[] Program Structure
The amount of national credits that students in the Fashion Design Program must complete is 32 in total, 96 of which belong to elective courses. The ECTS credit amount is determined as 120 in total, 30 for each semester. Fashion Design Program education duration is 2 years. In this program, the 3+1 system is applied.
[] Examinations, Assessment and Grading
Exams
Exams; There are eight types of midterm exams, make-up exams, final exams, makeup exams, summer exams, additional exams, exemption exams and single exams. Exams; Written, oral and / or practical. Students who can not take a midterm exam due to health, natural disaster and other excuses accepted by the relevant board of directors; They must submit their health reports or other excuse documents to the faculty / college secretariat within three days by mail, within one week, for the acceptance of their excuses. The report or other excuse documents shall be lodged in the first relevant governing body to be held. There is no make-up examination for make-up and make-up exams.
 
Students who do not attend classes in the semester are given a DVZ grade and their list is announced by the department head before the final exam. These students can not take the final exam.

 The grades of the course, which are calculated according to the previously announced principles together with the midterm and final exam results, are announced to the students by the relevant instructor and registered to the lists on the internet within the periods specified in the academic calendar. An example of these lists is submitted to the department chair for signing.

At the end of the final exams, students failing to take FD grades from some courses may take the makeup exams of these courses. If the student fails to take FD from the final exam, the make-up exam is done two weeks after the final exam.

 To succeed in a dersten, the grade of the course must be at least DD or higher.



The student can not take the course he / she took for the makeup exam in summer education. When the student who participated in the make-up exam is assigned a success grade for the course, a make-up exam grade is used instead of the final grade.
