Goals To obtain the teacher candidates accurate information about the math in preschool, to create educational activities combining the mathematical knowledge and principles of child development, to support them to design appropriate educational materials and to use in the activities.
Course Content Introduction and children' math world, Principles and standards of math, Development of mathematical concepts, Acquisition of mathematical concepts (formal-informal-natural experiences), Problem solving in Preschool Math- Matching, Comparing,Classifying, Ordering and Patterning, Counting and numbers,teaching processes to count, symbols (numbers and marks), Geometry and location in space, Measurement, Data collection-Graphics,Probability, Discalculi.
