Goals The objective of the course is to impart comprehensive knowledge to students, both theoretically and practically, concerning the identification, classification, role and significance in the national economy, biological and physiological characteristics, ecological requirements, propagation, and cultivation of horticultural crops.
Course Content Definition and scope of Garden Plants, Fruit Turkey and in the world, Turkey's fruit growing region and features, Classification of Fruits, Flower bud formation in fruit trees, recreation fruit trees, flowers opening, Pollination of fruit trees, pollination, fruit set, periodicity, Viticulture in the world and Turkey, Fruit trees and vine replication Pruning of fruit trees orchard establishment, Turkey viticulture, commercial classification of grapes and nutritional value, World and vegetables and vegetable cultivation in the country in place of importance in terms of nutrition and health economics in Turkey Vegetables, Classification of Vegetables, Vegetables factors affecting the choice of location for the establishment of a Vegetable garden and vegetable business forms business, Replication techniques in Vegetables and Vegetable seed, held preliminary application to the seed and seedling, Vegetable gardens in making the necessary cultural practices (soil preparation, seed sowing, seedling planting, pruning, irrigation, fertilization, weed control, pollination and fertilization to help etc.), Cases of ornamental plants in the world and Turkey and classification of economic importance and ornamental plants, production methods.
Learning Outcomes

1 The student acquires knowledge concerning the cultivation of horticultural crops.
2 The student learns fundamental knowledge regarding the propagation of horticultural crops, vineyard and orchard establishment, annual maintenance operations, cultural practices, harvesting, preservation and preparation for market, product evaluation, production objectives and strategies, and the utilization of growth regulators in horticultural farming.
3 The student will be able to identify the species and cultivars of fruit, vegetable, and vine crops, along with ornamental plants, cultivated both in Turkey and globally, assess their contribution to the national economy, and learn about their ecological requirements and specific cultivation methods.
