Goals Within the scope of the general tourism course, the aim is to teach about tourism and tourist presentations, the disciplines related to tourism, the types of tourism, the transformation and subsequent state of the tourism industry, and the factors influencing the origins of tourism. Furthermore, by identifying the characteristics of tourism supply and demand and expressing the elements that should be present in a tourism region, the course aims to convey the relationships and impacts of tourism on the economic, social, and physical environment. Additionally, the course aims to analyze and perfectly summarize the development of tourism in Türkiye over the years, and to teach these methods in practice, along with future trends in international tourism.
Course Content Learning general concepts such as tourism and tourists. Understanding the different types of tourism and their fundamental characteristics. Comprehending the reasons for the development of tourism in its entirety. Knowing the characteristics of tourism supply and demand and being able to list the components of the tourism product. Understanding the positive and negative economic impacts of tourism and learning about its effects on the environment and society.

1 - The concepts of tourism and tourists encompass different types of tourism based on the number of people, the place visited, the ages and socio-economic status of the participants, and their purposes.
2 - Factors influencing tourism development. Tourism supply and demand. Gaining knowledge about tourism products and the elements that constitute them.
3 - Explains the impacts of tourism on the economic, social, and physical environment.
4 - They become informed about tourism in Türkiye and its problems, as well as international tourism information and data.
5 - They will gain knowledge about the past, present, and future expectations of Turkish and world tourism.
