Goals Development of verbal communication skills using appropriate expressions and strategies for various verbal communication situations; developing the ability to express emotions and thoughts effectively through dialogue, presentation, and discussion activities; using current, original, visual, audio and audiovisual materials. To increase students' fluency by reducing their foreign language speaking anxiety; and to develop their daily/social discussion skills through pragmatic awareness, gamification and interactive role-play activities.
Course Content Strategies for managing speaking anxiety; using appropriate pragmatic rules (requesting, refusing, apologizing, etc.) for various communicative contexts through role-play; gaining fluency through gamified activities such as speaking mazes, island survival, and mystery-solving games, etc.; active listening and expressing opinions in pair and group discussions.
