Goals To introduce polymers and teach basic concepts, to provide information on the structures, properties, classification, polymerization mechanisms and production processes of polymers, and to provide a versatile perspective on polymeric materials and application areas widely used in industry.
Course Content 1. Master the basic polymer terminology that Metallurgical and Materials Engineers will need in their academic and business lives. 2. Recognize and classify polymer materials and gain knowledge about their properties, production and processing methods and application areas. 3. Be able to establish a relationship between the structural properties of polymers and material properties and know the test methods to be applied to polymeric materials. 4. Polymeric materials with appropriate properties can be selected for the desired area of use. 5. It can solve engineering problems related to the development, production and sale of a polymer material, taking into account the problems of the era.
