| Goals | Understanding biological concepts, ensuring that pre-service science teachers learn meaningfully the biology concepts within the scope of the renewed middle school science course. |
| Course Content | The course includes the meaning, fields, importance, historical development of biology; living and non-living structures; diversity and classification of living things (prokaryotes, eukaryotes, species concept and taxonomic structures, structure and characteristics of plants); structure and function of the basic unit of life, cell, membrane structure and function; cell divisions; plant tissues; plant organs and structures; reproduction, fertilization and development in non-flowering and flowering plants and animal diversity. |
