Goals Understanding biological concepts, ensuring that pre-service science teachers learn meaningfully the biology concepts within the scope of the renewed middle school science course.
Course Content The course includes the meaning, fields, importance, historical development of biology; living and non-living structures; diversity and classification of living things (prokaryotes, eukaryotes, species concept and taxonomic structures, structure and characteristics of plants); structure and function of the basic unit of life, cell, membrane structure and function; cell divisions; plant tissues; plant organs and structures; reproduction, fertilization and development in non-flowering and flowering plants and animal diversity.
