Goals To form background of basic concepts in electricity and magnetism, to explore the effects and sources of electric and magnetic fields
Course Content Charge and matter, Coulomb's law, Electric field and Gauss' law, Electric potential, Capacitance and dielectrics, Current and resistance, Direct current circuits, Magnetic field and magnetic forces, Sources of magnetic field, Magnetic induction, Inductance.

2 Calculate the electric field caused by charges and determine its effects.
3 Form relations between electric field, electric potential and current, and solve related problems.
4 Analyze direct current circuits, calculate the potential difference and current values of circuit elements.
5 Explain the sources of magnetic field and its effects.
6 Solve problems regarding charges in magnetic field.
