Goals To provide students with knowledge, skills, attitudes and habits related to basic definitions, theorems, proofs and applications of number systems, relation, function, limit, continuity and derivative concepts.
Course Content Numbers: number systems and their properties, induction principle, interval, absolute value. Relation: Sequential binary, Cartesian product, definition of relation, properties of relation, inverse relation, equivalence relation, order relation. Function: Definition of functions, properties, types of functions, inverse function, composition of functions, trigonometric functions, exponential functions, logarithmic functions, inverse-trigonometric functions, special defined functions. Limit: Limit of a variable, limit of functions, limit of trigonometric functions. Continuity: Definition of continuity, continuity from right and left, properties of continuous functions, types of continuity. Derivative: Definition of a derivative, geometric interpretation of a derivative, differentiation rules, higher order derivatives.
