Goals With this course, the student will be able to determine the technical properties of soils by using soil mechanics laboratory equipment. With this course, the student will be able to determine the mechanical properties of soils by performing experiments in accordance with the standard
Course Content Will be able to take samples from the ground using the method in accordance with the standard. Will be able to perform the necessary tests to determine the physical properties of the soil sample. Will be able to determine consistency limits according to soil-water relationship. Will be able to report the test results. Will be able to make mechanical tests of soil. Will be able to determine the bearing capacity of soils. Will be able to calculate lateral earth pressure in soil. Will be able to analyse retaining structures. Will be able to determine improvement methods in soils.
Learning Outcomes - Using standard methods, the floor may take sample. Experiments required to determine the physical properties of the soil sample received will be able to. According to the ground-water relationship will be able to identify the limits of consistency. Prepare a report experimental results.
