Goals | With this course, the student will be able to determine the technical properties of soils by using soil mechanics laboratory equipment. With this course, the student will be able to determine the mechanical properties of soils by performing experiments in accordance with the standard |
Course Content | Will be able to take samples from the ground using the method in accordance with the standard. Will be able to perform the necessary tests to determine the physical properties of the soil sample. Will be able to determine consistency limits according to soil-water relationship. Will be able to report the test results. Will be able to make mechanical tests of soil. Will be able to determine the bearing capacity of soils. Will be able to calculate lateral earth pressure in soil. Will be able to analyse retaining structures. Will be able to determine improvement methods in soils. |
Learning Outcomes |
- Using standard methods, the floor may take sample. Experiments required to determine the physical properties of the soil sample received will be able to. According to the ground-water relationship will be able to identify the limits of consistency. Prepare a report experimental results. - To be able to clearly explain the design and applications related to the construction area to colleagues, supervisors and the people and groups they serve, and to work as a team - To have the knowledge and skills in a field based on the competencies gained in general or vocational secondary education and supported by the courses - application tools and materials above the secondary level and to show that they understand the basic concepts in that field |
