Goals To learn halophytes of Turkey.
Course Content Differences between halophytes and glycophytes. Obligative and facultative halophytes. Root, stem and leaves metamorphoses of halophytes. Halophytes in lowland steppe. Halophytes in highland steppe. Halophytes in wind-erosion areas. Halophytes in coastal areas. Saline areas of Turkey and their vegetation. Important halophytic areas of Turkey. Endemic halophytes of Turkey. Economic potential of halophytes. Halophytes for erosion control C4 halophytes. Threatening factors of halophytes.
