Goals Introducing geophytes, a significant group with high potential to be ornamental and medicinal plants, as well as economically important.
Course Content Definition, content, and types of geophytes. Evolution of geophytes, their distribution worldwide and in our country. Major geophyte families distributed in our country and threats they face. Examination of production methods for commercially valuable geophytes in our country. Propagation via bulbs (storage organs), bulb programming, flowering in greenhouse conditions, marketing.
Learning Outcomes - Understanding the biology of important geophytes is crucial in horticulture
- It will acquire knowledge about geophytes distributed in Turkey
