Goals The main objective of this course is to give general taxonomic descriptions and biological features of invertebrate animals.
Course Content General taxonomic information and concepts; species concept, invertebrate morphology and biology, one-celled organisms, sponges, Coelenterata, Trematoda (flat worms), Nematoda (round worms), Annelida (segmented worms) Nemertinea, Rotifera (wheel animalcules), Arthropoda (joint arthropods) Echinodermata (spiny skin) and primitive deuterostomia taxonomy of the group, living environments, economic and ecological importance.
Learning Outcomes - know general taxonomic descriptions (species, genus, phylum etc.).
- identify invertebrate organisms in order level
- know the basic life cycles of invertebrate organisms
- recognize invertebrate species of surrounding
- know life cycle of invertebrate human parasites and protection methods
- know life cycle of invertebrate human parasites and protection methods
- dissect and observe the body structures of invertebrate organisms
