Goals The aim of this course is to convey to students the pathologies requiring Thoracic Surgery and the surgical approaches to these pathologies theoretically and practically, and to understand the emergencies and emergency interventions related to Thoracic Surgery.
Course Content Diagnostic procedures in thoracic surgery. Mediastinal pathologies and mediastinal surgery. Chest wall pathologies and thoracic, incisions, inflammatory lung diseases and surgery (Tuberculosis, Emphysema Bronchiectasis, Empyema, Hydatid cyst). Trachea diseases and tracheobronchial foreign bodies. Bronchus, esophagus diseases and surgery. Pulmonary resections and complications. Thoracic traumas. Spontaneous pneumothoraces and emergency pleural interventions.
Learning Outcomes - To be able to list the principles of obtaining information about the complaint from the incoming patient.
- Be able to count diagnostic procedures used in thoracic surgery.
- Ability to summarize the clinical and laboratory features, diagnostic methods and treatments of diseases requiring surgical treatment.
- List the indications and complications of surgical intervention
- To be able to list the diagnosis and treatment methods of pathologies requiring emergency intervention in the approach to multitrauma patients.
