Learning Outcomes - Being able to perform patient triage in emergencies.
- Knowing and being able to apply emergency airway management procedures.
- Knowing and being able to apply intravenous access procedures.
- Knowing and being able to apply Basic Life Support algorithms.
- Knowing and being able to apply Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) algorithms.
- Knowing the principles of emergency management for polytrauma patients, performing the primary assessment, resuscitation process, and secondary survey.
- Being able to perform arterial puncture and interpret arterial blood gases.
- Being able to perform an ECG and interpret basic ECG findings.
- Recognizing life-threatening arrhythmias and knowing how to manage them.
- Knowing the differential diagnosis and emergency treatment of life-threatening causes of chest pain.
- Knowing the differential diagnosis and treatment of life-threatening causes of dyspnea
- Knowing the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring algorithms for a patient presenting with seizures in the emergency department.
- Knowing the differential diagnosis and emergency treatment algorithms for a patient with altered consciousness
- Knowing the general treatment principles for poisoned patients.
- Knowing orthopedic emergency situations and the application of splints, casts, and spinal immobilization.
