Goals Gain general knowledge about position and importance of Phylum Chordata in Kingdom Animalia and its general characteristics; represent general information about Chordata by information on systematic and biology of sub-groups
Course Content Primitive chordates,Cyclostomata, cartilaginous fish, bony fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals, morphology, habitats, human relations, fossils, systematics and evolution
Learning Outcomes - To identfy the vertebrate animals in the natural environment
- To know vertebrate animal taxa and their systematics
- To have information about origin and the fossil forms of the vertebrates
- To be able to identfy the different vertebrate taxa by morphological characters
- To be able to have comments about habitat of vertebrates by examine the morphological properties
- To be able to prophesy about vertebrates living in various ecosystems
- To be able to have comments about ecological characteristics and importance of different vertebrate species
- To know endangered vertebrate animals and to be able to propose new conservation strategies
- To be able to design new projects about commercially valuable vertebrate animals
