Goals To learn the basic concepts of plant and animal taxonomy
Course Content Systematic and taxonomic study of the history and relationships with other biological sciences. The concept of taxonomic categories and their usage, population variation within and between populations, species and subspecies concepts, Types and their uses. Naming conventions in systematic zoology and botany, taxonomic studies and Latin grammar. Taxonomy, systematics, species and speciation, diagnosis, binomial nomenclature
