Goals To teach basic terms about environment, to provide comprehension about components of environment and environmental pollution
Course Content Basic terms, the importance of biology in case of the environment, Factors that polluting the environment Air pollution, Changes in the ozone layer, effects of ozone to the air, Water pollution, Soil pollution, fertilization and its effects, straw firing, Erosion, Noise pollution, Effects of man to the Earth ecosystems; environment-man relationships, population, natural resources; Wildlife and natural habitats, protection of Wildlife, a sustainable world; protection of biological diversity; Preventing pollution; environmental health and protection of environmental health; International dimensions of environment, environmental monitoring and organization; Environmental policy and planning; environmental policy in Turkey and environmental problems of Turkey.
Learning Outcomes - To be able to describe environmental pollution.
- To gain the awareness about protection of the environment.
- To be able to comment about effects of man to the environment.
- To be able to develop strategies for sustainability of natural resources.
- To be able to explain reasons and consequences of global climate changes.
- To be able to identify the threats on wildlife and develop conservation strategies.
- To be able to suggest individual and societal solutions to prevent environmental pollution.
- To be able to follow and comment about the recent policies about the environmental issues.
