Course Content | The methods of afforestation with other forest ecosystem rehabilitation techniques by seeding and planting. |
Learning Outcomes |
- Learn the place and role of afforestation in forestry practices - Explain seed sources, seed transfer, and provenance & species trials in forest tree species - Site examination, species/provenance selection, seedling material procurement - Site preparation before sowing and planting - Afforestation by direct seeding or planting, determining the spacing in plantings - Applying the cultural treatments after plantation establishment - Afforestation of disturbed lands - Design and layout of afforestation projects - Put in use knowledge/skill acquired during the course in afforestation practice effectively |
