Goals Develop positive attitudes towards science. Understand the importance of science for society, especially for preschool children. Be aware of the environmental problems in our world. Develop scientific process skills to him/herself as a teacher and children. Prepare activities and materials for children to acquire life skills suitable for children's development .
Course Content What is science? How children learn science? Scientific process skills and their importance. Early childhood science teaching methods, The role of society, families and teachers in early childhood science education. Planning and applying science activities and science centers.
Learning Outcomes - Knows the importance of science and nature for children in early childhood education.
- Have knowledge about basic science concepts.
- Knows the methods to be used in teaching the concepts related to science in early childhood education (experiment, concept network, concept map, travel, analogy).
- Uses scientific process skills effectively.
- Develops awareness of basic science areas
- Plans, implements and evaluates original science activities.
