Goals The aim of the course is to equip students with basic communicative skills in English so that they can deal with daily situations like introducing themselves, talking about their tastes, describing their jobs, routines, talking about what they are doing now and what happened in the past, and respond to the written or oral situations about those and similar topics at the level of A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Course Content
Learning Outcomes - At the end of this term, students will be able to; 1. interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is eager to help 2. communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine topics 3. know and be able to use some basic grammatical structures, words and phrases, numbers and so on in everyday life situations 4. understand some basic texts like stories, letters, emails, short articles, interviews, web pages, etc. and answer questions about them 5. fill in some forms like surveys, job applications and write some personal emails to a friend and their families

3. Week Learning to talk about family members by using possessive adjectives and introducing family members to other people.
4. Week Teaching and practising coutries and nationalities with the verb “ Be “and emphasizing capital letters.
5. Week Learning to use preposition to talk about and ask where the things are, and withal learning how to form plurals with new vocabulary words
6. Week Learning to use the present simple in positive and negative statements with I,we,you,they subject pronouns ; and talking about likes and dislikes.
7. Week Learning a lexical set of free-time activities and present simple questions using “do” and give shotr answers. Question&Answer.Practising present simple with Yes/No questions with I-we-you-they subject pronouns.

9. Week Revising simple present with questions and learning new vocabulary words relating to life styles Question&Answer.Practising present simple with Wh-questions with I-we-you-they subject pronouns.
10. Week Learning a lexical set of daily activities and talking about daily routine and asking and telling the time. Writing. Students practice simple present with their own daily routine.
11. Week Learning to talk about daily routine with the third person singular in present simple,and also talking about other people’s daily routine Dictation.Teacher reads the sentences with “ I “ subject pronoun ,and students turn them into 3rd person singular.
12. Week Students learn to ask presen simple questions usind do/does with a lexical set of jobs and duties. Question&Answer.Practising present simple with Yes/No questions by using do/does with the new vocabulary words of jobs and duties.
13. Week Revising the present simple tense and learning how to talk about problems. Reading .Answering the comprehension questions .Filling a gap including asking someone’s problem and giving excuses.
14. Week General revision of the units. Drilling.
