Goals The purpose of this course is to introduce the sub-skills such as note-taking, predicting, and extracting specific and detailed information, guessing meaning from context, and getting the gist.
Course Content Sub-skills of listening such as note-taking, predicting, extracting specific and detailed information, guessing meaning from context, and getting the gist; phonetics; aural authentic listening materials such as interviews, movies, songs, lectures, TV shows and news broadcasts of different accents of English.
Learning Outcomes - Students will gain knowledge on the components of listening comprehension: main idea,supportıng idea, conclusion and inference
- Students will be familiar with the accents of English speaking countries
- Students will be able to identify possible problems in real life discussions and develop their own speech concerning its solutions.
- Students will be able to speak effectively in English for a variety of purposes and audiences in a variety of genres and media
- Students will be able to develop rapport, sympathy, empathy and communicative skills.
