Goals This course aims to develop students' critical thinking and reading skills through the analysis of distinguished works from British and American Literature. Students will learn to evaluate literary texts within their historical and cultural contexts while establishing connections with authors' lives and literary movements of the respective periods.
Course Content Short stories by prominent British and American authors Structural and thematic analysis of selected texts Authors' biographies and literary identities Literary movements and socio-cultural characteristics of the periods Text analysis techniques and critical reading strategies Application and usage of literary terms
Learning Outcomes - English: Students who successfully complete this course will be able to: Read and analyze literary texts with a critical perspective Evaluate texts within their historical and cultural contexts Identify authors' literary styles and main themes in their works Recognize characteristics of literary movements through texts Identify and interpret literary techniques and devices in texts Use literary terminology accurately and appropriately
