While determining the vocational courses, modules and elective courses applied in the program; sector demands, regional needs, conditions of the educational institution, and student orientations and demands were taken into account.

Our students will graduate with 120 ECTS credits after 2 years. The courses are theoretical, practical, compulsory and elective, and courses on the health, care, development and education of children and youth aged 0-18 are given. Cooperation with official and private pre-school education centers, special education and rehabilitation centers for applications.


 
The most important feature of the program is its wealth in courses capable of training educators able to work in the fields of health, rehabilitation and education, as well as the opportunity of providing students, who choose to work on the field of either preschool education or special education and complete their undergraduate education on these fields, of choosing one of 2 branches in order to receive education in their desired branch by taking optional courses. The program was enriched with applied courses, which constitute the basis of vocational education, in addition to theoretical courses.
 
The objective of the program is to raise child development personnel who, in keeping with the changing scientific, technological, educational and health requirements, support the development and education of 0-18 year-old children and youth who are healthy or who have special requirements, illuminate families and the society with respect to the healthy development and education of children, are skilled in caring, protecting, educating and research, are aware of their professional responsibilities and committed to ethical values, are diligent, possess creative and critical thought skills, are sensitive toward social issues, are able to take individual responsibility and are respectful towards diversity and human rights. Graduates of “child development” departments of vocational high schools as well as high school graduates are eligible to apply for the program. Graduates of the Child Development, Child Development and Care and Child Development and Education fields of Vocational and Technical Secondary Educational Institutions can take the Child Development program without having to sit an examination.
 
Graduates of the child development program may find employment with the preschool education centres of private and public schools under the Ministry of National Education, kindergartens, day care centres / nursery schools / crèches under the Social Services and Child Care Institution, special education and rehabilitation centres and with the playrooms of paediatric clinics of hospitals. The language of the Child Development program is Turkish.

[] Admission Requirements
The admissions of students to the programs are made according to the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM – University entrance exam) within the framework set by the regulations of Higher Education Council (HEC). After students inform the Student Selection and Placement Center about what programs they want to study at, students are placed in the related programs according to their scores they got from the exam. 

Foreign students are admitted to the related programs with the scores of internationally acceptable exams such as SAT, ACT or are admitted to the related programs with their high school graduation grades (Undergraduate and Graduate Programs for Foreign Students Admission Guidelines).

The admission of students of General Academic Exchange Protocol to the related programs are done within the framework of the bilateral agreements (ERASMUS, FARABI, etc) signed between Duzce University and the partner universities. Guest students may enroll into the courses in this program, if the related academic unit approves. Sufficient language knowledge is required to monitor the program.
[] Course's Contrubution To Program
To complete the available courses in the program (a total of 120 ECTS) successfully, the students have to get at least 50 points out of 100 and required to achieve 2.00 on a 4.00 weighted grade point average. To graduate from the programs students should get at least DD in all of the courses provided.
[] Recognition of Prior Learning
Students enrolled in DU might be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. A student can be exempted from a certain course provided related course content previously received from another institution complies with that of DU, which is subject to approval and verification by the Board of faculty/graduate school/school.

Recognition of Education Abroad

DU recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established.

Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits.

In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in DU, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved.

At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.

The objective of the Child Development Program is to raise individuals who support the development and education of children and youths between ages 0-18 who are healthy/who require special care in pace with changing scientific, technological, educational and health requirements and who illuminate families and the society on the healthy development and education of the child. Another objective is to train child development personnel who are capable of taking charge of the care, protection and education of children, who are ethically responsible, who are capable of creative and critical thinking, who are sensitive to social issues and who are respectful towards diversity and human rights.

Ministry of Education depends on the private and public school pre-school education centers, kindergarten, Social Services and Child Protection Institution, depending on the day-care homes, kindergartens and nurseries, child care centers, children's clinics game room, special education and rehabilitation centers, child development institutions are some of the graduates can work.

Students who graduate from this program, in accordance with relevant regulations ofYOK can make transition horizontal and vertical.

Child Development Program, arranged to be 96 are  local and 120 ECTS credits.In program the lessons which are determined by Higher Education Law and the Common Core Courses in English and other common courses determined by the University Senate is located.

[] Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate from the Child Development Program, the total number of national credits that students have to complete is 21 credits for elective courses. The total amount of ECTS credits is determined as 30 for each semester. Training period of Child Development Program is 2 years. In order for students to graduate, they need to be at least 2.00 by achieving the courses in the Child Development Program lesson plans.
