Department of Motor Vehicles and Transportation Technologies, Automotive Programme has been implemented according to the universal principles of science, European Union and Higher Education qualifications framework, professional and technological developments and the provisions of the relevant legislation of Higher Education Institutions. In the preparation of the education programme; while determining the modules and elective courses, course contents parallel to the developing technologies were foreseen, new courses were added, and the necessary flexibility was provided with the logic of elective courses in order to respond to regional differences. Sector demands, regional needs, conditions of the educational institution and student orientations and demands have been taken into consideration and at the same time, care has been taken to create a ground that can provide international equivalence.

Automotive Programme is enriched in terms of theoretical courses as well as applied courses which are the basis of vocational education. Automotive Technology Programme 3+1 Education Model System will be applied. Our students enrolled in the Automotive programme have the opportunity to gain work experience by providing full-time practical training in corporate and expert enterprises in the sector for one semester. The courses are theoretical, applied, compulsory and elective, and the vision, role, technical skills and behavioural patterns of the individual who will carry the title of Automotive Technician are taken into consideration, and courses are given in order to ensure that the qualified intermediate manpower needed by the automotive sector in both production and after-sales service levels are trained in accordance with the quality and service philosophy that will meet the expectations of the age. Applications are carried out in cooperation with official and private automotive manufacturers, special technical training centres, authorised services and automotive enterprises. The most important feature of the programme is that it has a rich variety of courses in order to train students who can work in the fields of automotive production, sub-industry, after-sales and training centres.

Automotive Programme vocational high schools ‘motor and automotive technologies’ graduates and all students who graduated from high school can choose. Automotive Technology graduates; Vehicle manufacturing companies, Automotive Programme is carried out in Turkish.

We will be able to work in the service and sales points and training centers that we can call the production and after sales service units of the automotive sector which can take charge of the technical and technical responsibilities in almost all stages of the main and subsidiary automotive factories in the direction of changing science, technology, education and health requirements. Is to train automotive technicians who will be able to take responsibility and duties in many fields ranging from group leadership service management, sales group leadership, spare parts and service workshop management to personnel training in automotive fields.

[] Admission Requirements

The admissions of students to the programs are made according to the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM – University entrance exam) within the framework set by the regulations of Higher Education Council (HEC). After students inform the Student Selection and Placement Center about what programs they want to study at, students are placed in the related programs according to their scores they got from the exam. Graduates of related vocational high schools can enroll in the department within the framework set by the regulations of Higher Education Council (HEC).

Foreign students are admitted to the related programs with the scores of internationally acceptable exams such as SAT, ACT or are admitted to the related programs with their high school graduation grades (Undergraduate and Graduate Programs for Foreign Students Admission Guidelines).

The admission of students of General Academic Exchange Protocol to the related programs are done within the framework of the bilateral agreements (ERASMUS, FARABI, etc) signed between Duzce University and the partner universities. Guest students may enroll into the courses in this program, if the related academic unit approves. Sufficient language knowledge is required to monitor the program.

[] Course's Contrubution To Program
To complete the available courses in the program (a total of 120 ECTS) successfully, the students have to get at least 50 points out of 100 and required to achieve 2.00 on a 4.00 weighted grade point average. To graduate from the programs students should get at least DD in all of the courses provided.
[] Recognition of Prior Learning

Students enrolled in DU might be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. A student can be exempted from a certain course provided related course content previously received from another institution complies with that of DU, which is subject to approval and verification by the Board of faculty/graduate school/school.

Recognition of Education Abroad

DU recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established.

Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits.

In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in DU, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved.

At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.

Automotive Technologies The aim of the program is to be responsible for automotive technicians in manufacturing or after-sales service sectors who have the importance of contemporary knowledge and technology required by the sector, who are familiar with the elements that constitute the automotive industry, the fields of interest and basic working principles of the profession field, in line with the requirements of the changing science, technology, education and automotive field. Having the technical language in the professional life, having the importance of professional ethics in business life.

Main and sub-industry virtually all levels of automotive factories can be considered equivalent technicians can take part in the titles and responsibilities. Automotive industry production and after-sales service units can be named as service and sales points and can work in training centers. This unit group leadership in service manager, sales team leader, replacement parts, service workshop manager, staff training in many areas of responsibility and duty to take. Vehicle inspection stations and technicians can work as deputy chief. Automotive Technology Program 3+1 Education and Training system will be applied.  ECTS credit amount is determined as 30 for each semester and 120 in total. Automotive Technology Program education period is 2 years. Students enrolled in this program will be given full-time applied training in corporate and specialized enterprises in the sector for one semester.

Students who have attended the courses shown in the curriculum and have been successful in all of them, who have completed all the studies included in the provisions of this Regulation and other relevant legislation are entitled to graduation. Their GPA must be at least 2.00 and they must have completed all other studies.

[] Examinations, Assessment and Grading

Exams


Exams; There are eight types of midterm exams, make-up exams, final exams, makeup exams, summer exams, additional exams, exemption exams and single exams. Exams; Written, oral and / or practical. Students who can not take a midterm exam due to health, natural disaster and other excuses accepted by the relevant board of directors; They must submit their health reports or other excuse documents to the faculty / college secretariat within three days by mail, within one week, for the acceptance of their excuses. The report or other excuse documents shall be lodged in the first relevant governing body to be held. There is no make-up examination for make-up and make-up exams.
 
Students who do not attend classes in the semester are given a DVZ grade and their list is announced by the department head before the final exam. These students can not take the final exam.

 The grades of the course, which are calculated according to the previously announced principles together with the midterm and final exam results, are announced to the students by the relevant instructor and registered to the lists on the internet within the periods specified in the academic calendar. An example of these lists is submitted to the department chair for signing.

At the end of the final exams, students failing to take FD grades from some courses may take the makeup exams of these courses. If the student fails to take FD from the final exam, the make-up exam is done two weeks after the final exam.

 To succeed in a dersten, the grade of the course must be at least DD or higher.

 


The student can not take the course he / she took for the makeup exam in summer education. When the student who participated in the make-up exam is assigned a success grade for the course, a make-up exam grade is used instead of the final grade. Any course can not take the student's makeup exam, which does not have the right to take the final exam. Semester examinations, make-up examinations and additional examinations are held within the periods specified in the academic calendar accepted by the Senate.
