It is designed by examining domestic and international examples to provide the foundations of contemporary pharmacy practices. It is aimed to start the information about the profession from the first term. The first two years consist of courses related to basic pharmacy sciences. Theoretical and practical courses in pharmaceutical sciences are concentrated in 3rd and 4th year courses. The fifth year includes the graduation project, elective field courses opened in pharmacy practice areas such as community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy and industrial pharmacy, and internship study.

[] Admission Requirements

Registration and admission requirements for students to be admitted to Düzce University Faculty of Pharmacy are determined by the recommendation of Düzce University Senate and the decision of the Yuksek Ogrenım Kurumu. Registration and admission requirements are specified in the OSYM Examination Guide of the relevant year. ÖSYM (Higher Education Programs and Quotas Guide, Table 3A, 3B, and Table 4, “Conditions and explanations regarding Higher Education Programs. [] Course's Contrubution To Program

Students who maintain no failing grades, achieve a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale, and fulfill all curriculum requirements along with the mandatory 6-month internship are eligible to graduate with a master's degree.

[] Recognition of Prior Learning

In Turkish Higher Education Institutions, recognition of previous formal learning, vertical, horizontal and intra-university transfers are carried out within the scope of the "Regulation on the Principles of Transferring Between Associate Degree and Master's Degree Programmes in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer" determined by the Higher Education Council. Formal education is applied according to Higher Education Legislation.

[] Description of Program

The aim of the pharmacy undergraduate program is to train graduates who are fully authorized in administrative and technical aspects of every stage from the production to the consumption of the drug, who are competent in the basic principles of pharmacy, who have the ability to think scientifically, and who act within the framework of professional and scientific ethical principles, and to provide our graduates with the knowledge and skills that will enable them to work in universities, research and education centers, and public and private sectors such as health and education in line with these principles. The elective courses offered by our faculty and the research projects prepared by the students provide the graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy with the ability to be principled in professional matters and to be effective in interdisciplinary studies.

1 Can apply the knowledge and skills gained by completing the pharmacy undergraduate program in all areas of the pharmacy profession within the framework of relevant laws, regulations, legislation, professional core values ​​and ethical rules.
2 Can use the concepts and applications of basic science, medicine and health sciences in the field of pharmacy by combining them with applications related to the pharmacy profession.
3 Has knowledge of anatomy, immunology, physiology, pathophysiology and biochemistry of biological systems. Knows basic concepts about diseases and treatments affecting human health.
4 Has sufficient knowledge to perform and evaluate physical, chemical, toxicological, biological, microscopic, microbiological, molecular and elemental analyses on herbal medicines, drugs, environmental and biological materials, food, food additives and contaminants, medicines, drug active ingredients and excipients and medical products by using scientific resources, pharmacopoeias and validated methods.
5 Has knowledge and application skills about pre-formulation, formulation, laboratory, pilot and industrial scale production, quality assurance, stability, storage, bioavailability, bioequivalence, licensing and patent studies of pharmaceutical products containing natural or synthetic active ingredients, biotechnological, nanotechnological, cosmetic, dermocosmetic, radiopharmaceutical products.
6 Has knowledge and application skills in the recognition of drug targets, chemical structure of active pharmaceutical ingredients, synthesis and analysis, effects, structure-activity relationships, design, development, therapeutic dose determination, toxicological, pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic properties and side effects.
7 Has sufficient knowledge about the preparation of magistral drugs, the uses and legislation of all preparations and medical products, whether original or generic.
8 Has knowledge about the effects of drugs on biochemical parameters, drug-drug, food-drug, disease-drug interactions, monitoring and prevention of adverse drug reactions and pharmacovigilance.
9 Possesses knowledge and application skills in pharmaceuticals, phytopharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical care, pharmacotherapy, cosmetology and clinical pharmacy.
10 Within the framework of rational drug use, he/she is competent in presenting and describing the drugs prescribed to the patient, evaluating clinical laboratory results, providing practical and useful information about products such as food support, nutraceuticals, and health and diseases.
11 Recognizes medicinal and poisonous plants morphologically and microscopically. Has detailed information about secondary substance groups found in medicinal plants.
12 Knows the effects of drugs and other chemicals, biological and physical factors on biological systems and the environment, and the toxicological risk assessment process. Has knowledge of protection from toxic effects and treatment approaches.
13 He/she has knowledge of health policies and health economics, medicines, medical devices, reimbursement and pharmacy management aimed at improving the health level and quality of life of the society.
14 Can follow national/international historical and current developments in the field of pharmacy using technological tools, databases and information sources, evaluate scientific and evidence-based data, and adopt lifelong learning.
15 Can communicate effectively with other professional groups and legal health authorities, pharmaceutical industry, professional organizations, etc. on issues related to the field of health, and can offer suggestions and solutions to problems related to the field.

[] Professional Profile of Graduates

Pharmacists who obtained their degrees from Düzce University Faculty of Pharmacy are employed in community pharmacies, hospital clinics, hospital pharmacies, and various sectors of the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry, including production, in accordance with the legal authorities conferred upon them. In addition, pharmacists actively participate in education and research activities as academicians or researchers in the fields listed above.

[] The Upper Stage of a Transition

Candidates who successfully complete their undergraduate education may pursue postgraduate doctoral programs, contingent upon achieving a passing score on the ALES exam and possessing adequate proficiency in a foreign language.

[] Program Structure

The 5-year pharmacy curriculum is designed to provide the foundations of contemporary pharmacy. The first and second year program consists of courses related to basic pharmaceutical sciences. [] Examinations, Assessment and Grading

Exams at Düzce University Faculty of Pharmacy consist of midterm exams, final exams, make-up exams and other make-up exams. Course success is evaluated by adding 40% of the grades received from the midterm exam and other educational activities (if any) to 60% of the final or make-up exam grade and is determined according to the Düzce University Education and Training Regulation and the relative or absolute measurement and evaluation system implemented in accordance with this regulation.

Students who complete the 5-year educational program at Düzce University Faculty of Pharmacy are qualified to graduate.

The Faculty of Pharmacy is a 5-year undergraduate program. In this faculty, courses are conducted full-time, both theoretically and practically.
