[] About Program

Within the scope of the Development of Human Resources through Vocational Education Project, it is aimed to develop employment-oriented training programmes between the labour market and vocational colleges and vocational technical secondary education institutions based on the fifth level occupational standards.

The Construction Technology Programme in our department is a programme that aims to train qualified and professionally competent young people who can read and apply architectural and static projects, analyse the problems they will encounter by making use of disciplines related to construction. In addition to theoretical knowledge, Construction Technology Programme students have the opportunity to gain work experience in the field by working full-time in enterprises for one semester with the +1 Education Model.

Our students will graduate with 120 ECTS credits at the end of 2 years. The courses are theoretical, applied, compulsory and elective, and courses are given for construction education.

The Construction Technology sector is in a continuous and dynamic development due to the rapidly changing market and competition conditions at the global level. Due to these characteristics, the Construction Technology sector attracts the close attention of countries as a strategic industry and special plans are made by governments for this sector. Especially in the rapidly globalising business world, competition gains great intensity and industrialised countries implement special policies to protect this sector and improve its competitiveness.

Since the Construction Technology sector acts as a locomotive in all economies, it is always a sector where important incentives and investments are inevitable, which will also increase employment.

This programme has been developed by lecturers and teachers from pilot institutions in cooperation with national and international experts, representatives of Higher Education Council (YÖK) and academics, representatives of MoNE and teachers, social partners, labour market representatives and professional staff within the scope of the Project for the Development of Human Resources through Vocational Education.

In the curriculum development process; occupational analysis was made in the labour market, competencies of vocational staff were determined, curriculum contents were created by analysing competencies, general framework of the curriculum was determined by using ISCED'97 classification of education fields and curriculum documents were prepared. The developed programme documents and necessary explanations are included in this booklet.

[] Goals

The aim of this programme is to educate professional staff who have basic knowledge and skills in the field of construction technology, who read the projects in the field, who work in accordance with the construction regulations and legislation in the application control units. In this direction; to train qualified individuals who can use package programmes, have theoretical knowledge about the field, are professionally competent and have high application skills.

-Among the similar departments; to be the department that trains the most preferred technical staff of the organisations operating in the construction sector and sends the most students to higher education.

-To be able to take responsibility in the studies and projects carried out in their fields, to be skilful in application processes, to be able to control all kinds of manufacturing in accordance with the technique,

-To train professional staff who can work in the public and private sectors, who are entrepreneurial, prone to teamwork, able to produce solutions, open to technological developments, able to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained in the field, and qualified to meet the demands and needs of the sector.

[] Admission Requirements
The admissions of students to the programs are made according to the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM – University entrance exam) within the framework set by the regulations of Higher Education Council (HEC). After students inform the Student Selection and Placement Center about what programs they want to study at, students are placed in the related programs according to their scores they got from the exam. Graduates of related vocational high schools can enroll in the department within the framework set by the regulations of Higher Education Council (HEC).

Foreign students are admitted to the related programs with the scores of internationally acceptable exams such as SAT, ACT or are admitted to the related programs with their high school graduation grades (Undergraduate and Graduate Programs for Foreign Students Admission Guidelines).

The admission of students of General Academic Exchange Protocol to the related programs are done within the framework of the bilateral agreements (ERASMUS, FARABI, etc) signed between Duzce University and the partner universities. Guest students may enroll into the courses in this program, if the related academic unit approves. Sufficient language knowledge is required to monitor the program.
[] Course's Contrubution To Program
To complete the available courses in the program (a total of 120 ECTS) successfully, the students have to get at least 50 points out of 100 and required to achieve 2.00 on a 4.00 weighted grade point average. To graduate from the programs students should get at least DD in all of the courses provided.Students are also required to complete the compulsory practice in the specified time.
[] Recognition of Prior Learning
Students enrolled in DU might be exempted from certain courses within the framework of certain regulations. A student can be exempted from a certain course provided related course content previously received from another institution complies with that of DU, which is subject to approval and verification by the Board of faculty/graduate school/school.

Recognition of Education Abroad

DU recognises academic terms and courses studied by a student that has been involved in an exchange programme for one or two terms at the universities with which a partnership was established.

Students that are selected to avail themselves of Student Mobility for Studies under ERASMUS are obliged to draw up an education agreement with relevant ERASMUS Unit Coordination prior to the mobility term. The education agreement demonstrates the courses to be studied at the partner university the student intends to go, as well as appropriate ECTS credits.

In addition to this, students shall be asked to issue a Recognition Sheet, which refers to the equivalent of foreign courses in DU, so that the credit transfer is planned and approved.

At the end of the exchange term, the courses studied abroad are recorded and demonstrated in the transcript, together with the original course codes and names and ECTS credits. Pursuant to ERASMUS Programme and Collaboration Agreements concluded thereunto, official transcripts will quote, an abbreviation signal of ET, European Transfer, for the courses studied abroad.

An associate's degree program which aims to provide professional and academic qualifications of the level of fifth. Entry requirements are determined by ÖSYM in accordance with the relevant legislation of YÖK (HEC)

Construction Technology Program is designed with 100 locally and 120 ECTS credits.
Construction Technology Program students are required to do an internship of 30 working days.Internships can be done as static or architecturally at public and private work places by the students.

Associate Degree program that records department by writing to the course of the lesson plans contained in these courses has managed, TC Duzce University and Bachelors Degree Training and Education and Examinations Regulation shown in internships and graduation projects, such as studies have passed it is bound pursuant to Directive GPA requirement was fulfilled students (all courses 50 and older area or GPA water is at least 2.00 students) are deemed to have completed the Associate Degree in education.
