Evaluation System, Grading Principles and Achievement Conditions

Evaluation System

Students must take a final exam in addition to the exams they have taken or the work they have done before. At least one midterm exam is given to students each semester. In addition to midterm exams, quizzes can be given without specifying a date.

The criteria to be taken into consideration in the evaluation of success in courses (such as midterm exams, homework, final exams and so on) and the rates related to these are specified in the curriculum programs and course syllabuses distributed to students at the beginning of the semester or published on the website. Final exams are held on the dates, places and times announced by the University. Students' end-of-term success grades are given by the instructor responsible for the course according to their midterm exam, final exam grades, the work they have done during the semester and the course attendance rules. Courses for which no midterm exams and/or final exams are held are determined by the relevant department heads and school directorates and forwarded to the Student Affairs Department, and the end-of-term success grades for these courses are determined according to the work students have done during the semester.

The final grades, together with the success evaluation criteria, are submitted to the Student Affairs Department by the relevant faculty member.

Regulation on Postgraduate Education:

Published in the Official Gazette dated 18.09.2011 and numbered 28058 and entered into force on the date of publication. In addition to midterm and/or midterm studies, students are evaluated for the final exam and/or midterm project work. At the end of the semester, students who fail the end-of-term exam and/or mid-term project work of the course/courses they are registered for or who cannot take these exams or work take a make-up exam, and a make-up evaluation is made for the project work. The make-up exam or make-up evaluation is applied to students who do not fail due to absenteeism with a DVZ grade at the end of the semester. When determining the success grade of students who take the make-up exam or whose project work is made, the grade they receive in the make-up exam is valid instead of the end-of-term or mid-term project work grade. The end-of-term or make-up exams are held at the places and times determined and announced by the Institute department head. The end-of-term course grade to be given to the student is determined by the instructor, taking into account the mid-term exams, the end-of-term exam and/or the end-of-term project work evaluation, their work during the semester and their attendance to the course. Students who cannot take the mid-term exam for a reason deemed justified and valid by the Institute department head are given the right to take a make-up exam. No make-up exam is given for the end of the semester.

The letter grades that will be given to students by the instructor at the end of the semester for each course they take are as follows:
