The foundations of Düzce University dates back to the opening of Düzce Vocational School in 1976, affiliated with the Sakarya Engineering Faculty of Istanbul Technical University.

Düzce University scaling up with the establishment of Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University in 1992, accelerated its process of becoming a university. In addition to Düzce Vocational School, the Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Technical Education, Faculty of Medicine, School of Health, Akçakoca Tourism Management and Hotel Management School and Akçakoca Vocational School opened affiliated with this university. Later, Düzce University established by separating from Abant İzzet Baysal University with the law numbered 5467 published in the Official Gazette dated March 17, 2006 and numbered 26111, started its education and training activities with the philosophy of creating value.

Düzce University had 3 faculties and 5700 students in its first years of establishment. Today, it stands out as a respected and preferred higher education institution with over 30 thousand students, 13 faculties, 1 institute, 2 colleges, 10 vocational schools, over 30 research centers, a Technopark, and a Research and Application Hospital.

Düzce University, which has transformed from a sapling to a plane tree with its scientific research, value-added studies, and contributions to regional development in the light of its philosophy of creating value since its establishment on March 17, 2006, successfully continues its activities with an entrepreneurial, innovative, and transparent management culture.

Düzce University, which adopts the understanding of science for society as a principle, continues to produce new values with its modern education programs, technological opportunities, and qualified and equipped academic staff.
