Goals The aim of this course is educate students, be important position to forest product industry of playwood in Turkey and World, log properties for veneer, veneer panel manufacturing methods, occurrence problems to veneer production, production technology of playwood and blockboard, using resins, physical and mechanical properties.
Course Content Historical development of laminated wood materials, definition of veneer, playwood and blackboard, wood species and their properties using in laminated wood materials, Production quantity laminated wood materials in Turkey and World, veneer logs, Boards standards, define of veneer panels, Procedure to log depot, log treating with steam. Wood veneer manufacturing methods, Visiting a plywood mill near Düzce Veneer production by rotary cutting, Veneer production by sawing and slicing, The factors of veneer quality effected, Production mistakes, Veneer drying system, veneer transport, sizing, Plywood production Technology, Work flow in plywood manufacturing, Prepare glue solution, glue mixer machines, glue solution, Pressing laminated wood materials, pressing aim, Visiting a plywood mill near Düzce, Climatize to Boards, end process, Blackboard production, Quality control and standardization process on blackboard, Technological properties of laminated wood materials, bending strength, internal bending strength.
