Goals • Teaching basic information and skills about Turkish maqam music theoretically and prectically. • Teaching maqam music infromation and skills about hearing-reading-writing maqam music.
Course Content Muhayyer, Neva, Tahir, Hicaz, Hümayun, Uzzal, Zirgüle, Karcığar, Suzinak, maqams. 2–8 beats usuls. Transcription, solfege and flow exercises with studied maqams and usuls.
