Goals The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the fundamental concepts, principles, and operational mechanisms of sports economics; to analyze the structure of the sports industry, the income and expenditure relationships of sports clubs and organizations, broadcasting rights, sponsorship, ticketing, licensed products, and the economic impacts of sporting events; and to make assessments regarding economic decision-making, resource utilization, and sustainable financial planning in the field of sports.
Course Content This course covers an introduction to economics, fundamental concepts of sports economics, the structure of the sports industry, supply and demand relationships, the economic aspects of professional and amateur sports, the financial structure of sports clubs, broadcasting revenues, sponsorships, licensed products, the economic impact of sports organizations, major sporting events, sports consumption, the athlete market, and current trends in sports economics.
