Goals The aim of this course is to provide to understand students the social, cultural and economic structure of Turkey in its historicity and to contribute to the understanding of contemporary Turkey.
Course Content Concepts explaining social structure, Theories explaining social structure, Culture and cultural change in Turkey, Family institution and related social problems in Turkey, Population and related social problems in Turkey, Educational institution and its problems in Turkey, Institutional structure of Turkish economy, Turkey transformation of economy, religion in Turkey, secularization and social transformation, political institutions and democratization in Turkey, political history in Turkey, health institution and its problems in Turkey, urbanization and poverty in Turkey, working life and problems in Turkey
