Goals To examine the changes in the Balkan geography, taking into account the specific characteristics of the region. In the course, the political, ethnic, economic and social structure of the states (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo), which emerged with the dissolution of Yugoslavia along with Albania, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and the European Union and relations with Turkey are discussed.  
Course Content In the Balkan political geography where competition, conflict and instability have been seen as the dominant political character throughout the political history, the problems and conflicts within the region will be explained in historical depth in the processes of nationalization. In addition, the policies of the great states outside the region towards the region will be explained in historical depth. In this context, the rivalries, conflicting interests of the great powers in the region and their consequences on the politics and rings of the region will be explained. The course aims to explain the political developments of the Balkan Wars, the First World War, the Interwar Period, the Second World War, the Cold War and the Post-Cold War Period in a historical development.
