Course Content To introduce basic subjects such as science, scientific knowledge, what is research Scientific research process Characteristics of a good research process Determination of the research problem (subject), the ways to be followed while determining the subject Learning the concepts of hypothesis, variable, induction and deduction Types of hypotheses, quantitative and qualitative, dependent and independent, continuous and categorical variables Population and sampling, determination of sample size, probabilistic and non-probabilistic sampling techniques Critical source review, which sources should be examined, literature review information Data in scientific research, data sources, primary and data secondary data – strengths, weaknesses Survey, observation, interview methods, survey types, survey question types, word choice errors Measurements and scales in the scientific research process, scale types, features Measurement errors, data cleaning, coding and statistical editing Classification of analysis techniques – parametric and non-parametric analysis techniques The concepts of credibility, reliability and validity of data in scientific research
