Mode of delivery The course is delivered through lectures, case study discussions, classroom debates, and student presentations. Students are expected to follow current developments in international trade policy and critically evaluate them. Policy analysis reports, case evaluations, and short written assignments are incorporated into the learning process.

Goals Macroeconomic approach to foreign trade: introduction to international economic theories and policies. Classical, neo-classical and contemporary theories, comparative advantage and the benefits of free trade. Economic growth and foreign trade policies, customs tariffs, income distribution and international factor movements. Regional trade structures, problems, effects on developed and developing countries as well as Turkey. Basic topics such as foreign exchange markets and the international monetary system. What is foreign trade? Differences between Domestic and Foreign Trade, reasons for development, parties and risks. Payment methods in foreign trade / delivery methods in foreign trade / documents subject to foreign trade.
Course Content This course examines international trade policy instruments within both theoretical and applied frameworks. The course covers free trade versus protectionism debates, tariffs, non-tariff barriers, quotas, subsidies, anti-dumping measures, and trade wars. It also analyzes the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO), regional trade agreements, customs unions, and economic integration processes. The impact of globalization, geopolitical risks, sustainability policies, and digital trade on international trade policy is evaluated through contemporary case studies.

Bir ülkenin ticaret politikasını makroekonomik göstergeler ışığında analiz eder ve politika önerisi geliştirir. Analyzes a country's trade policy in light of macroeconomic indicators and develops policy recommendations. 8. Uluslararası ticaret politikalarına ilişkin güncel bir vaka çalışmasını akademik çerçevede raporlar. Reports a current case study on international trade policy within an academic framework. Eğer istersen bunları bir tık daha sertleştirip “designs”, “formulates”, “critically evaluates” gibi üst düzey fiillerle yüksek lisans seviyesine de taşıyabiliriz. Bu ders lisans mı yüksek lisans mı? Ona göre bir kademe yukarı taşıyalım.
