1 Being able to understand the importance of Descartes on formation of contemporary philosophy.
2 Being able to understand Kant’s revolutionary thoughts on epistemology
3 Being able to see the impacts of 19th century philosophical thoughts on sociology
4 Being able to understand major philosophers’ thoughts and having comparative and critical perspective on modern day philosophical problems

1 Acquire a general sociological perspective.
2 Acquire knowledge of the basic characteristics of sociological method and the stages of sociological inquiry; comprehension of the required concepts for a social scientific inquiry and the methods for a sociological research, and also to be able to use them in an applied research.
