Goals Definition of basic concepts related to urbanization and environmental policies; Explaining the development of urbanization and environmental problems in the world; Explaining the historical development and legislation regarding the city, urbanization and environmental problems in Türkiye; Discussing the problems and solution suggestions on the subject; It is the evaluation of urban and environmental problems and their emergence processes, and the examination and presentation of urban-environmental policies followed in this field.
Course Content This course evaluates the causes and environmental consequences of urbanization at global and local scales. It addresses problems such as over-urbanization and mega-urbanization together with the local conditions that create them. It also examines the roles of cities, social movements, and institutions in addressing environmental problems. Within the scope of this course, the student; - Can make critical decisions towards the city, - Will be able to approach the city from a holistic perspective, - It has a profile that can think about the city and society together. - Perception of pollution and environmental problems is improved; - Realizes that protecting the environment and natural resources is important; - Obtains information about public and private measures necessary to protect the environment.
