Goals To teach the mechanism of metabolic events that occur in the cell
Course Content Genes and chromosomes, - DNA supercoiling, Chromatin and nucleolid structure, - DNA metabolism: DNA replication, DNA repair and DNA recombination, - RNA metabolism: DNA dependent RNA synthesis, RNA processing, RNA dependent RNA and DNA synthesis, - Protein metabolism: Genetic code, Protein synthesis, Protein targeting, - Gene expression and its regulation: Regulation of gene expression in prokaryotes, Regulation of gene expression in eukaryotes, - Principles and applications of recombinant DNA technology.
