Goals The aim of this course is to enable the student to develop an original, feasible, and academically sound dissertation proposal in the field of Basic Islamic Sciences. Within the scope of the course, the student is expected to determine a research topic, define the research problem clearly, evaluate the relevant literature, clarify the methodology, and prepare the dissertation proposal in accordance with academic procedures.
Course Content This course focuses on the process of preparing a doctoral dissertation proposal. Within the scope of the course, studies are carried out on determining a research topic, formulating the problem statement and objectives, clarifying research questions, conducting a literature review, evaluating sources, establishing the methodology and conceptual framework, identifying the original contribution, preparing a chapter outline, and presenting the dissertation proposal in written and oral form.

2 Evaluates classical and contemporary sources related to the dissertation proposal and establishes the methodology and conceptual framework of the research.
3 Presents the prepared dissertation proposal in written and oral form in accordance with academic ethics and the principles of scholarly writing.

3. Week The main research problem, purpose, and significance of the study are clearly defined. Interview
4. Week The general framework of the classical and contemporary literature related to the dissertation proposal is identified. Interview
5. Week The primary and secondary sources to be used in the research are identified and evaluated. Interview
6. Week The methodology, conceptual framework, and main approach of the research are clarified. Interview
7. Week The research questions, sub-problems, and study assumptions are formulated in detail. Interview
8. Week The originality, academic contribution, and feasibility of the dissertation are emphasized. Interview
9. Week The chapter outline and general plan of the dissertation proposal are prepared. Interview
10. Week The literature review is deepened and the place of the research within existing studies is determined. Interview
11. Week The writing of the dissertation proposal begins, and the prepared drafts are discussed with the advisor. Interview
12. Week The dissertation proposal text is reviewed in terms of content, methodology, language, and academic style. Interview
13. Week The final version of the dissertation proposal is evaluated in terms of bibliography, citation format, and formal features. Interview
14. Week The dissertation proposal prepared throughout the semester is evaluated as a whole, and the subsequent dissertation process is planned. Interview
*Midterm and final exam dates are not specified in the 14-week course operation plan. Midterm and final exam dates are held on the dates specified in the academic calendar with the decision of the University Senate.
