Goals The main purpose of the course is to provide the ability to analyze transition periods in terms of formation, development and content by showing the beliefs and practices that have emerged in the transition periods from birth to death in Turkish folk culture and to provide information about Meddahlık, Karagöz, Orta oyunu and Puppet, which are examples of traditional folk theater.

1 In the first stage, the student recognizes the concept of transition period and the practices and beliefs from the past to the present.
2 Learns how and why transition rites are formed,
3 Understands the importance of these creations for society.
4 In the second stage, he meets the forms of theater created in traditional life.
5 Meddahlık, Karagöz and Ortaoyunu, which were formed independently from western theater, have knowledge about plays with different techniques and content.
