| Goals | This course aims to gain general information about folk tales from the basic fields of folk literature, to recognise the tradition of telling folk tales in minstrel style. |
| Course Content | -General structure of Turkish folktales and historical origins of the minstrel-style (âşık) folktales. -Motif and thematic analyses of classic narratives such as Yusuf and Züleyha, Kerem and Aslı, and Tahir and Zühre. -The motif of drinking the "sacred wine" (bade) in dreams within minstrel tales and a general evaluation of the narratives. |
