Goals This course aims to interpret the historical development of Turkish literature considering the periods before and after the proclamation of the Republic, identify the key concepts of Turkish literature in the Republican Era, understand the characteristics of Republican Era Turkish poetry, gain knowledge about the lives and literary identities of poets of the period, and analyze selected poems.
Course Content -Development of Turkish poetry from the Second Constitutional Era to the Republic, its general characteristics, and literary movements. -The lives, poetics, and poem analyses of Yahya Kemal, Nâzım Hikmet, Necip Fazıl, and Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar. -Literary perspectives of groups like the Five Syllabists, the Garip Movement (First New), and other literary groups. -Text analyses from Faruk Nafiz Çamlıbel.
