Goals This course aims to gain general information about Turkish epics, one of the basic texts of folk literature, and to recognise prominent epic texts and motifs.
Course Content -Motif and thematic analyses of Genç Osman and Köroğlu epics and the heroic narratives (cengnâme) of Ali. -Dede Korkut narratives. -Fundamental motifs in Turkish epics.
