Goals To get to know the Orkhon Turkic period, which is considered the beginning of Turkic.
Course Content -The state of the Turkish language up to the Göktürks, the Göktürk Period, and the Orkhon Inscriptions. -The origin, formation, writing system, orthography, and vocabulary of Orkhon Turkic. -The phonetic inventory, sound structure, vowel harmony, and phonological features of Orkhon Turkic. -Reading of Orkhon Turkic written documents and their analysis in terms of phonology, morphology, and lexicology.
