Goals The aim of this course is to introduce the necessary monitoring tools for tracking migration processes, to examine the basic principles of migration legislation and its application in Türkiye within a legal framework, and to enable students to specialize in migration management.
Course Content This course examines the phenomenon of migration in its multifaceted form; its definition, types, causes, and consequences are studied within a theoretical framework. Data collection methods, statistical tools, and institutional monitoring mechanisms used to track migration processes are introduced. The course continues by addressing international migration law and its fundamental concepts, particularly focusing on refugee law, asylum processes, and international protection mechanisms. The migration management system in Turkey, its relevant institutions, and legal regulations are analyzed in detail. In this context, the Law on Foreigners and International Protection, the temporary protection regime, irregular migration, border management, and repatriation processes are evaluated within a legal framework.
